You won’t find deer in the majority of Alaska, but in Southeast and Kodiak we do actually have black-tailed deer. The only place I’ve ever seen one was at the Alaska Conservation Center in Portage. To someone who’s used to moose in my yard, the deer seem so small and fragile.
